Capelin Prices 2012

FFAW and ASP have negotiated a roll-over of the 2011 Capelin Schedule, and established a Working Group to collect detailed information during the 2012 fishing season to provide information for future negotiations. Once this information is collected, it will allow a full review of current specs for capelin, and their relevance to current markets.

Prices for this year are as follows:

55 count per kilo and under: 10 cents per pound

Based on the following conditions:

1. Minimum 40% usable females

2. Minimum 10% feed content

Where one or more of conditions (1) or (2) have not been met, or where the size of capelin exceeds 55 count per kilo, the price shall be determined between the individual harvester and processor.
